Biden approves $567M in protection help for Taiwan, White Home says

President Joe Biden on Sunday accepted $567 million in protection help for Taiwan, the White Home stated, the most recent transfer by the US to spice up the island’s navy within the face of rising tensions with China.

The US is Taiwan’s most essential worldwide backer and arms provider even within the absence of formal diplomatic ties.

China has repeatedly demanded Washington cease promoting weapons to Taipei, which it claims as its territory.

In a press release, the White Home stated Biden had delegated the Secretary of State the authority “to direct the drawdown of as much as $567 million in protection articles and providers of the Division of Protection, and navy training and coaching, to supply help to Taiwan.”

It offered no additional particulars.
