Jumaane Williams, next-in-line for NYC mayor, obtained contributions from donor in Eric Adams indictment

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams — who’s subsequent in line to grow to be mayor if Eric Adams resigns — obtained marketing campaign contributions from a contractor accused by the feds of organising unlawful straw donations to Hizzoner, in accordance with a report Wednesday.

Williams obtained $5,000 in donations from Tolib Mansurov, a Uzbek American businessman who’s recognized as “Businessman-4” within the historic indictment in opposition to the mayor, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

The indictment states Mansurov illegally reimbursed $8,000 complete to workers who donated to Adams’ 2021 mayoral marketing campaign, along with straight contributing $2,000 himself.

A spokesman for Williams mentioned Mansurov’s donations to the general public advocate will probably be reviewed, the report states.
